These are four pictures that I took for my art class. The first one I took to display texture. The second one is to display space. The third picture of the wrestling mat is to show symmetry. The last picture displays Rhythm.

In our class we discussed these definitions for the following terms.

Texture- pertaining to the surface quality. Visual and actual of the piece.

Space- a 3 dimensional volume, where it is filled with objects or left empty to help show width, height, and depth.

Symmetry- comes from balance. This means having an equal distribution to the piece of art.

Rhythm- a picture that has rhythm will show visual movement repetitively. Many elements can be used like; color, shape, lines, values, and more.

In class this week we did a little project. The assignment was for us to make an outline of one of our feet and use that to provide information about ourselves. I chose to do mine with a red background because red is probably my favorite color. I also included pictures of two sports that I played in high school. I also have a picture of a running shoe on there that stand for a lot of things. Some of those are that I enjoy asics running shoes and use them to train all year round, being a college athlete (Wrestling). The background picture was my best attempt at showing a view from my buddy's lake cabin. Being out on the lake is my favorite way to relax. For that picture I used crayons and colored pencils.

I think that this can be used in many ways in the classroom. First off it is a great idea to use as an introduction to the school year in the classroom. To follow up, I would use this to have other students meet and great other students. This can also be kept somewhere all year or even used as a book mark!
